ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Receives returned goods and enters data into the computer system to update all pertinent information. Sorts shipments of returned goods into parts returned for repair and merchandise being returned due to overstock, etc. Evaluates and classifies items returned for credit, repairs and complaints. Returns inspected items to quality for processing to the warehouse. Items needing repackaged are either repackaged by the department or transferred to the repack department for further packaging. Ensures product complaints are processed correctly and efficiently including the processing of complaints to the complaint department, and processing complaint products back to the customer or issuing credit or replacement. Processing of all loaner instruments and kits to sales reps and/or customers. Packs/repacks repaired or replacement instruments and ships to customers. Unpacks, cleans and sterilizes return for repair instruments as needed prior to repair diagnostics. Receives customer phone calls, issues Return Material Authorization (RMA) numbers for return of merchandise, informs customers of repair costs and secures customer repair authorization order numbers, credit card number and/or other billing information. Processes and enters the receipt transactions into the computer system for return goods. Records all pertinent customer and customer complaint information in the computer system when issuing the RMA number for the processing of the return or repair and the compilation of data for quality assurance. Performs simple diagnostics checks to determine problems and, if detected, routes the part to instrument repair, refers more complex diagnostics (complaints) to the Quality Assurance Department for repair or replacement determination. Pulls replacement parts if required, packs and ships the repaired or replacement goods to the customer; updates the computer system with all pertinent information and creates customer invoices. Performs general housekeeping in area.
