Details: Distribution Field Service EngineerPOSITION PURPOSE:The DFSE (Distribution Field Service Engineer (Distributor Field Service Engineer / Field Engineer / Service Engineer) has safety, employee, customer satisfaction, and business/financial responsibilities within branch operations. In addition, the position is responsible for enabling early warning problem detection, investigation, documentation and correction. The DFSE counterpart takes the lead role in local technical investigations of early warning problemsRESPONSIBILITIES - Distribution Field Service Engineer:SAFETY Know, follow, lead, and enforce all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities. BUSINESS / FINANCIAL Enable early warning problem detection, investigation, documentation and correction Take lead role in local technical investigations of early warning problems with the Factory DFSE being the primary point of contact in these type of issues Lead technical advisor for distributor Take lead role in local technical investigations after all published technical resources have been exhausted by the local branch and Tier 2 technical team (where applicable) Key liaison between distributor/dealer network and factory DFSE Focal point for component/engine field test activity for assigned territory Focal point for technical communication flow for assigned territory EXPECTATIONS: Complete a minimum of 2 JSA Shares / month Attend all quarterly Safety & CSE trainings Develop personal relationship with all market leaders and branch leaders Dispatch quickly after technical escalation process has been exhausted Perform 2 x / yr technical update for each CRM branch location Complete and submit PIR’s on product issues in a timely manner Respond to ETSR’s, escalate or close and maintain ETSR database to be current Follow up weekly with customers as defined separately Track all projects via the DFSE dashboard Quickly identify problem, clarify via problem definition, and identify Step 3 and Step 6 fixes Follow the 7 step problem solving process Complete thorough failure analysis when required Attend DFSE conference 1 x / yr Respond to all field technical support calls in a timely manner (within 1 hour) Emails within 2 hours. Assist in new product customer care Assist Cummins Inc in field test projects. OTHER Maintain company and product confidentiality. Demonstrate a positive attitude and a high level of personal credibility and integrity with customers, management, and co workers. Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings, and activities as required. Stay apprised of new techniques relevant to the work being performed; achieve and maintain technical competency. Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and rules. All other duties as required.
